Mayabeque, Cuba: Three childhood institutions, the maternal home and the grandparents’ home of Melena del Sur received a donation of food products in high demand, including rice, chicken, meats and fruits.
The gesture of the producers of the Credit and Services Cooperative (CCS) Ismael Troncoso, motivated the gratitude of the recipients, among them the director of the Amanecer Children’s Circle, Hilda Abreu, and that of the grandparents’ house Máximo Zertucha, Sandra Gutiérrez.
With humility Yohary Chenique Valdéz, a rice producer, member of a well-known family in the territory, commented that it is a simple gesture that speaks of the people’s willingness to support the most vulnerable sectors in the midst of the epidemiological situation caused by the Covid-19.
According to Deibis Alfonso, President of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP) in that coastal town, other productive forms are added to this initiative.
