Mayabeque, Cuba: The agroecological garden of the Agricultural Production Cooperative Ciro Redondo, in Batabanó, stands out as one of the advances of the Association of Small Farmers (ANAP) to guarantee healthy food and take care of the environment.

Peasants grow a wide variety of vegetables in this area to meet the demand of the population.

They also use organic fertilizer and biological media, purchased through the Entomophagous and Entomopathogens Reproductive Center (CREE).

The head of the orchard, Jesús Reyes accompanied by two workers carry out the work in the furrows. Today they have short-cycle crops such as: beans, chives, okra, eggplant, carrots, among others.

In Batabanó there are 30 agroecological farms and in each cooperative, they intensify the work of healthy orchards.
