Mayabeque, Cuba: Workers in the cultural sector in Güines contribute to the prevention of COVID 19 by carrying out several initiatives online to promote creation workshops, exhibitions and other proposals.

Faced with the outbreak of the pandemic, art instructors resume their remote work and thus remain active in times when the joyous occurrence of multiple activities that captivate adults and children is missed.

According to the director of the Provincial Library, Raúl Gómez, Yrela Milián, they virtually recall previous editions of events such as the Tu Carta de Amor contest sponsored by that center.

She added that this is one of the most attractive contests in which people, in their epistles, highlight the passion towards being loved or the affection for a partner or friend.

In times of pandemic, creators also support the work of prioritized sectors to bring food and other items to the elderly, disabled and socially disadvantaged people, in addition to supporting the Family Care System complying with hygienic-sanitary measures.

With this contribution, those linked to this sector display values such as solidarity and humanism, while contributing to raising the quality of life and spirituality of the population.

The director of the union in this municipality, Ana Yanet Cantero, expressed the willingness of Güineros artists to work in order to protect our population and cooperate with the prevention and confrontation of the new coronavirus.
