Mayabeque, Cuba: The role of science in the stage of confrontation with Covid-19 has been essential. In Batabanó, based on strict compliance with new health protocols, better results are expected in controlling the disease.
The health director in the municipality, Senza Roberto Kitasaki Palenzuela, explained that they use a new protocol through which all patients with respiratory symptoms are transferred to the consultation and the antigen test is applied, since January with high effectiveness.
As Kitasaki Palenzuela explained, after obtaining positive results, the timely isolation of contacts and suspects allows the new Coronavirus to be managed effectively.
“In the last 15 days we have had 13 cases, the most difficult days in the municipality since the beginning of the pandemic. We are in frank autochthonous transmission but we hope that the incidence rate will decrease in the next few days with all the actions that we are carrying out”, the health director added.
The immediate action of doctors, nurses and specialists, as well as temporary work groups is essential in these results.
