Havana, Cuba: The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, today regretted the death of a girl with Covid-19 and advanced oncological disease, and offered condolences to her family.
The president expressed on his Twitter account that it is painful news that marks a before and after in the course of the epidemic in the country, which had elapsed so far without reporting pediatric deaths.
“It hurts and forces us to keep working. Our children deserve it”, the head of state emphasized on the social network.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, in March 2020, Cuba has registered the death of 459 people, but this is the first case of pediatric age, despite the increase in patients among those under 19 years of age.
