The street belongs to the revolutionaries.

Mayabeque, Cuba: It is August 5 and loyal to the teachings of Fidel, the residents of Madruga remember the date on which 27 years ago the counterrevolution tried to take the streets, but “the Commander arrived and ordered it to stop”, as the song of Carlos Puebla says.

It did not take a single shot as the leader assured a year after the failed events, the people crushed the destabilizing attempt and ratified their commitment to the socialist Revolution.

27 years after that August 5, 1994, in an even more complex scenario than then, and when once again the counterrevolution tries to undermine citizen tranquility and play into the annexationist interests of the empire, the streets of Madruga are filled with the revolutionary people.

This is a Day of patriotic reaffirmation in this municipality of Mayabeque, starring the young people who made their position alongside the Cuban Revolution very clear.

In those moments of untold heroism, the slogan of Eduardo Chibás, leader of the Orthodox Party, is present: Shame against money.
