Mayabeque, Cuba: The Pedro Lantigua Agricultural Production Cooperative (CPA), in Quivicán, was the headquarters of the provincial act to celebrate the 61st anniversary of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR).
This time, the central activity took place differently from other years, not only because of the incidence of COVID-19, but it also fulfilled the call of the Revolution to be useful in the current times.
Volunteer work from the early hours of the morning with the planting of 2 hectares of cassava, began a celebration where they are linked to a group of leading organizations not only in the fight against the pandemic, but also in production and direct support to municipal development actions.
The recognition of this CDRs´ detachment for being the third consecutive year of the national vanguard opened a path to motivate the health sector for its work in the Red Zone and the young people for providing their help in the isolation centers.
The founder of the CDR in the town, Emilia Galán, received the September 28 medal and Juana Malagón the distinction of the unity of the neighborhood and the defense of the homeland, recognitions for her 60 years of unconditional support to this organization.
According to the president of this structure in the territory, Veneidy Romero Matos, to be worthy of this activity they executed an action plan where the performance of each of the cederistas was key in the fight against the pandemic.
