Mayabeque, Cuba: An extensive program of anti-vector actions is being carried out in Mayabeque with the aim of eradicating the proliferation of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito in the communities and therefore the contagion with arboviruses: dengue, Zika and Chikungunya.
The Head of the Provincial Department of Surveillance and Vector Control, Doctor Leandro Miranda Lamorú, said that these days they are visiting all the homes in the municipality of Güines and afterwards the work will be extended to the rest of the municipalities to carry out surveillance and alert to the increase in outbreaks of the insect.
They also perform focal, perifocal and adulticide treatment (or fumigation), to eliminate possible mosquito hosts.
Miranda Lamorú urged the population to collaborate in these tasks of sanitizing the community by destroying everything that may constitute the habitat of the Aedes Aegypti.
Health authorities advise eliminating disused tires, egg shells, cans and bottles, performing autofocal at homes, cleaning refrigerator and air conditioning trays, brushing pet vessels and spiritual vessels. . They also summon to clear the grounf of patios and barren plots.
