Mayabeque, Cuba: The pre-selection of the Hurricanes de Mayabeque team was reduced to 40 players, after a first cut made at the end of the third week of training.
As reported by Michael González Ventura, director of the team, the catchers that still have options to integrate the team are Luis Fernández (Batabanó), Luis Ríos (Melena del Sur), Javier Carabeo (Güines) and Kevin Pérez (Nueva Paz).
As infielders aspire to wear the uniform of Los Huracanes: Juan Carlos Hernández (Nueva Paz), Rangel Ramos and Stuar López (San Nicolás), Lázaro Martínez, Rafael Alejandro Fonseca (Havana), Jonathan Martínez (Güines), Miguel Camacho (San José de las Lajas), and Juan Miguel Martínez (Matanzas).
Among the outfielders are: Dennis Laza, Frank Alfonso, Orlando Capote and Orlando Lavandera, from the Mayan capital, as well as Alexander Pozo and Yasniel González, from Quivicán, JhonaColomina (San Nicolás), Yordanis Carvo (Bejucal) and Kevin Milián (Madruga) .
As well as the pitchers: Yadián Martínez (Quivicán), Marlon Vega (Bejucal), Mailon Cruz and Marlon Pérez (Melena del Sur), Asiel Reyes (Jaruco), Mario Batista and Diosbel Napoles; from San José de las Lajas, José Norbelis Betancourt (Bejucal), Alyansel Álvarez and Juan Miguel Fernández (Güines), Antonio Baró and Adrián Sosa, from Havana, Raymel Pérez and Michael Ortiz (Artemisa), Darián Alonso (San José de las Lajas), Yulián Quintana (Jaruco), Jaime Gámez (Quivicán), José Bermúdez and Luis Miguel Vázquez (Madruga).
The final roster must be made up of 34 players, so 6 athletes will not be on the official roster.
