Mayabeque, Cuba: The first period of the year of preparation for the defense 2022-2023 in the territory, with the act carried out at the Provincial School for the Defense, Commander Lizardo Proenza Sánchez, in the military region of Mayabeque, in the year of the anniversary 64 of the triumph of the Revolution.
The act was presided over by the first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in the demarcation, Yanina de la Nuez Aclich, the Chief of the General Staff of the Western Army, Brigadier General Hernes Feijoo Heiro, and the Chief of the General Staff of the Mayabeque Military Region, First Colonel Alexis García Delgado.
Chiefs, officers, sergeants, soldiers and civilian workers from the units that make up the military region also participated.
At the event they presented decorations for the 169th anniversary of the birth of José Martí and for the fulfillment of the tasks and missions entrusted during the year of preparation for defense 2021.
The Mayabeque Military Region agreed to deliver the Distinguished and Outstanding Service distinctions in preparation for the defense as well as a diploma of recognition to officers, sergeants and civilians of the Revolutionary Armed Forces and to the specialties and units that obtained the best results in the year.
In addition, three new members obtained the card that accredits them as militants of the Communist Party of Cuba.
