Mayabeque, Cuba: The Popular Consultation on the Families Code takes place in San José de las Lajas, as in the entire country, a process that will last until April and constitutes a momentous event.
It is version 24 of a legal document that is broad, complex, but of great importance for Cubans. It is respectful and modern, and corresponds to the reality of families in the country.
The novelty that this project implies shows aspects not included in other regulations, and is part of the notoriety of a Code that, when submitted to consultation, allows voters to express through their interventions modification, addition, elimination and doubts, the latter can be clarified by the jurists who attend each meeting.
In San José de las Lajas, the beginning of the Popular Consultation process took place in pilot assemblies that took place in constituencies of the six Popular Councils of the municipality, which had the support of mass organizations. A total of 538 consultation meetings on the Family Code Project will take place in the provincial capital from February to April, meetings that will facilitate learning more about a broad, comprehensive legal document that contains benefits and protection and deserves to be studied and known to all.
