Mayabeque, Cuba: Birth rate maintains tendency to decrease in Madruga, in 2022. This public health indicator in the municipality shows only nine births at the beginning of the second half of February 14th, less than in the same period of the past calendar.
Officials of the Maternal and Child Care Program (PAMI) in that territory reported on the specialized follow-up provided to the 44 pregnant women by family doctors and nurses, while, in particular, a small group of high-risk pregnant women receive systematic care in maternity homes.
An important part of the assistance work of PAMI in the territory is aimed at persuading pregnant women who refuse admission to these centers, in a joint effort of psychologists, doctors, social workers and mass organizations of the municipality.
