Mayabeque, Cuba: Faced with the call from the country’s top management to produce food, the Mayabeque Agricultural Transport Base Business Unit is overshooting efficiency indicators to raise the quality of services, at a time when Cuba is recovering from Covid- 19.

In this sense, it assumes commitments related to marketing management throughout the national territory, to guarantee the transfer of inputs and resources, such as machinery and technological equipment for planting crops, fumigation and cultural attention to plantations, among other tasks in field.

According to the entity’s director, Eduardo Quintero Collado, they provide services from Guantánamo to the Vueltabajo region, in Pinar del Río. They transport products widely used in agriculture such as fertilizers, steel boxes, parles and agricultural systems.

Currently, this unit is among the three best of its kind in the country, backed by favorable economic indicators, according to the head of the Accounting and Finance Department, Gledis Milian.

In the current year, the sales plan is more than one million 228 thousand pesos, covered by some 28 contracts. Revenue exceeds plans by 5.4 percent and productivity increases by 43 percent.
