At this time, work is being done on the rehabilitation of the bathrooms and the partial uncorking of the walls of this property of heritage value, whose construction dates from the neocolonial period.
In the coming week they will polish the gray marble floors of three of the classrooms that are practically ready, the head of the brigade, Osmany Martínez Sanabria, said.
They have the carpentry that has been replaced in more than 60 percent of the premises, pending the assembly of new covers and painting, he said.
The Jaruco High School is the only institution of this level of education in the territory, where a large-scale comprehensive construction project is carried out.
The objective is to rejuvenate the infrastructure of this center, a former military barracks converted into a school after the triumph of the Revolution, and to give the pedagogical group and its more than 200 students a better place to teach and learn.
