Havana lift some restrictive measures.

Mayabeque, Cuba: The Governor of Havana and the Provincial Director of Health appeared this Wednesday at the Round Table to assess the situation of the Capital after a month of restrictive measures and specify the actions to confront COVID-19 as of January October 1st.

The Vice President of the Defense Council in the capital, Reinaldo García Zapata, argued that the latest measures imposed in September have had a positive impact, thanks to the popular contribution and the actions of the public health system.

This is demonstrated by the main indicators that measure the development of the epidemic in the city that show a decrease, including outbreaks and events. The effectiveness is also higher compared to the month of August.

The Provincial Director of Public Health in Havana, Carlos Martínez Blanco, said that the city is still at epidemiological risk because the dispersion of cases continues and there is viral circulation.

We have six active events, 3 institutional and an equal number in the community. The patients admitted total 2,943 cases, of which 2,350 are in isolation.

Given the current situation of Covid-19 in the capital of the country and given the need to activate economic life, the Governor, Reinaldo García Zapata, made the following measures public.

  • Continue promoting teleworking and remote work.
  • Promote as much as possible the return to work to reactivate production and services.
  • 24-hour road traffic in the city.
  • Eliminate the restriction of movement of cars and private vehicles.
  • Eliminate the prohibition on the transfer of self-employed workers to different municipalities.
  • People can buy in the stores of any municipality in the city.
  • Increase the level of service in currency collection stores.
  • Interprovincial travel limitations are maintained, the departure to their provinces of people who had to stay in the capital will be guaranteed and travelers must take the PCR.
  • The entrance of persons from other provinces to the city will continue to be closed, only those that are officially authorized will be accepted.
  • Return to normal market hours
  • Maintain the increased network in the neighborhoods.
  • The imposition of fines is maintained when the directed measures are violated.
  • Maintain the information by the media of the sanctioned cases taking into account the kind of the crime.
  • Maintain working groups at the community level.
  • Maintain groups to control the queues in shopping centers.

Others of mandatory compliance are: the use of the mask face, not allowing entry to production centers and services to people with symptoms of fever or flu, respecting social distancing and sanitary hygienic measures.
