Mayabeque, Cuba: Multiple activities are carried out in Mayabeque to celebrate the closing of the Day of the Cuban Culture, this October 20, 152 years after singing the notes of the Bayamo Hymn for the first time.
The Montecallado Theater Group will present the play Antonieta o el suicidio, by the author Salvador Lemus, at the Art Gallery of the Provincial Branch of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) in the territory.
While in the municipalities of Bejucal, Santa Cruz del Norte and Jaruco they will perform the retreats of the Municipal Bands and the interpretation of the National Anthem.
On digital platforms, the Lumina Company will broadcast, at 10:00 pm, Song of a winged girl, a version of Los Zapaticos de Rosas, by José Martí.
In the cinemas of Madruga, Melena del Sur, Quivicán, Nueva Paz and San Nicolás, the acetate album En cuarentena, a cultural fight from Mayabeque, will be presented.
Activities are also planned for the children and the elderly. At the Renovadores de Sueños children’s circle, in the capital of Mayabeque, the Tacón theater group will present La Hora del Cuento, dedicated to the 50 years of Elpidio Valdés.
At the Grandparents’ House in San José de las Lajas, Amanecer con Tacón will be held, in homage to the prima ballerina assoluta Alicia Alonso.
