Mayabeque, Cuba: In Jaruco they health authorities adopt the measures ordered by the Ministry of Public Health and the Cuban Government, in the stage of new normality to prevent the spread of COVID-19, according to the director of the Comprehensive Teaching Polyclinic Noelio Capote of the municipality, Dr. Tania Padrón Rodríguez.
She specified that suspected patients with symptoms will be transferred to the isolation centers of Mayabeque, while direct or indirect contacts will remain in their homes.
Family doctors and nurses will be in charge of monitoring the evolution of these cases, while it will be up to the political and mass organizations together with the delegates of the People’s Power to guarantee them other basic services.
The next step to be taken in the midst of the health contingency that the country still faces is the creation of a specific department in that polyclinic itself, to perform PCR tests in real time.
The Microbiology Licenciate Dra. Mabel Expósito Pineda Padilla, with extensive experience in the local SUMA laboratory (Ultramicroanalytic Systemhas) has already received the training that will allow her to apply this technique.
The Acute Respiratory Infections Consultation (ARI), created in April of this year, will continue to operate full time and with the same specialists and biosafety conditions, Dr. Padrón said.
The most important thing from now on is to work together and quickly, as well as become aware of the importance of social distancing, the use of a mask and self-isolation when the situation requires it, the directive called.
