Mayabeque, Cuba: Deputies from Mayabeque participated in the debate of the Fifth Ordinary Period of Sessions of the National Assembly of People’s Power, headed by the First Secretary of the Party’s Central Committee, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, the President of the Republic of Cuba , Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and the President of Parliament, Esteban Lazo Hernández.

The agenda included the report on the liquidation of the 2019 State budget, the Social Economic Strategy to promote the development of the country and confrontation with the global crisis caused by COVID-19.

The deputies approved the Draft Law of the Foreign Service, Organization and Functioning of the Council of Ministers, the one related to the Revocation of those elected and that of the President and Vice President of the Republic of Cuba.

Adianez Taboada Zamora, deputy to Parliament for the municipality of Madruga and vice minister of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, said: “the Deputies expressed themselves fully available so that this economic program designed in the country can be executed from its own natural resources and the advancement of the industry”.

Regarding the execution of the state budget, Taboada Zamora said: «It is an extremely important issue that was debated in the Assembly, it was reported about the main deficiencies in the use of the budget and what are the measures that give a starting point for achieve a better execution of it”.

In the application of the Economic-Social Strategy, in the province of Mayabeque, actions are carried out in order to achieve an impact in the prioritized sectors, whether in education, health, higher education, and that science accompanies all development of the territories, the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology and Environment, Adianez Taboada Zamora emphasized.
