Mayabeque, Cuba: As by chance the infirmary came into her life, as she was planning to train as a defectologist; But faced with the need for public health personnel in the country, she did not hesitate to play a role that she never imagined today would be her greatest passion.
At just 26 years old, the young resident of Batabanó, Beatriz Calzadilla Polanco, works as a nurse at the María Herminia Hernández Maternity Home in the territory.
Due to her dedication and tenacity, she has become the right hand of the person in charge of the team that carries out the Maternal and Child Care Program (PAMI) in this municipality.
Today in times when the pandemic threatens health and personal well-being, the small and restless young woman takes care of this vulnerable group by administering medications and following up on the indications of specialists: clinician, obstetrician, among others.
There, she rigorously applies biosafety protocols, by virtue of avoiding contagion with Covid-19. Not long ago Beatriz entered a diploma with relevant results in which she was certified to continue working in that health institution.
Convinced and happy that she chose the profession connected with her, she dedicates what she does to her mother, to whom she claims to be her world, her life, and her entire passion for Nursing.
