Mayabeque, Cuba: The Family Doctor and Nurse Program has the support of students from the Faculty of Medical Sciences, of Mayabeque, to guarantee quality in primary health care.

From each area they organize the priorities for vulnerable groups, as well as compliance with hygienic-sanitary measures related to the protection and recovery of health in times of Covid-19.

Dr. Talía Valdés highlights the work of future doctors in the confrontation with the new coronavirus.

The control of the enquiries is carried out taking into account patients with chronic non-communicable diseases, for example kidney failure, diabetes, arterial hypertension, among others.

New fundamentals and procedures are put into practice by medical students from the youngest province in the country to help save human lives.

“When a person with respiratory symptoms is detected in the enquiry, they must attend the medical office. The nurse also plays an important role in this work, she is there at all times to guarantee the required quality”, Valdés said.
