World Health Day.

Every April 7, World Health Day is celebrated, commemorating the creation of the World Health Organization in 1948.

This year the date has a peculiarity: the confrontation with Covid-19, which affects one hundred and seventy-nine countries.

In this scenario, Cuban health personnel have been an essential force to try to control the spread of the virus, and to preserve the most sacred of the human being: his life.

COVID-19 has hit all nations hard, but its impact has been most severe in vulnerable communities without access to health care services.

In Cuba, it is vital to recognize the more than 600 professionals from the Henry Reeve brigades who went to other countries to fight this pandemic.

The Minister of Public Health, José Angel Portal Miranda, congratulated all the staff and expressed: “We trust in the work they do, in their commitment and unconditional dedication to the tasks of the Revolution. Together we will be victorious again and we will be able to celebrate this and many more dates with joy”.
