Mayabeque, Cuba: In the municipality of San Nicolás, repairs to the electricity sector are being reinforced after the damage caused by the lash of rain to the small electricity networks in the population settlements.

The personnel of the sector in that municipality work to maintain the quality of the indicators and therefore an adequate functioning of the electricity generation conditions in the territory due to the recent breakdowns after the constant rains in May and June.

According to the Chief of Operations of the OBE in the locality, Yesley Posada Benítez, the main damages were reported in the rural areas of El Sastre, Guanamón and La Primavera, where the brigades of linemen are now working to condition the energy transmitters ahead of the provided time.

So far the damage has been restored to 80 percent. As Posada Benítez explained, the delay in the work in recent days is due to the distance between the users of the substations and the inaccessibility of some places that require repairs or replacement of lines or poles.
