Mayabeque, Cuba: The Cuban Women Federation (FMC) in Melena del Sur, will celebrate this August 23 the 61st anniversary of the creation of that female organization, tempered by the current epidemiological scenario.
“Our founding date is near, we can no longer make big celebrations but we will not stop celebrating the date, with an intervention in the Popular Council of Guara, we begin with in Lechuga, doing a volunteer work that aimed at changing the aspect of the community and achieve an improvement from the houses to the surroundings ”, the general secretary of the FMC in the municipality, Yuliet Serrano González, argued.
“We are going to start doing volunteer work with the members of our organization and residents of the place and then we will hold an act to present Meiben González with the August 23 medal. Taking into account her merits and her systematic work in the female structure, she will be recognized this year by the FMC”, Serrano González said.
The National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP), will be part of the celebration of the 61 anniversary, the FMC-ANAP brigades play a very important role in many activities related to the Covid-19 pandemic, from the making of nasobucos, making of baskets for mothers with fewer resources and in health education tasks in the communities, the President of the peasant organization, Deivis Alfonso García expressed.
