Mayabeque, Cuba: Despite the setbacks presented by the pandemic and weather events, the Camilo Cienfuegos Industrial Fishery Company, from the municipality of Batabanó, plans to over-comply with the lobster catch plans, planned for the end of 2021.
The general director Orlando Jiménez Vargas explains that the entity planned a total of 871 tons of the crustacean and to date accumulates 637, and they also predict to end the year with about 700.
Jiménez Vargas said that this will not happen in the case of fish and crab, since these indicators decreased compared to previous periods.
The price of lobster in the international market is higher than expected, which allows greater income and contributions to the country’s economy.
