Conmemoran en Mayabeque Día del Trabajador Forestal.

Mayabeque, Cuba: Workers with 20 and more years of experience, in the forestry sector, were distinguished with the Álvaro Barba Machado Medal in recognition of their contribution to the development of the main economic tasks and programs related to forestry, and wood products .

The event took place in the Marti Forest of Mayabeque, in the context of the commemoration for the Day of the Forest Worker.

On this occasion, Emerida Oramas, worker of the nursery of the Mayabeque Agroforestry Company, and Idania Padilla, head of the state forest service in the province, were highlighted.

At the event they carried out the symbolic planting of bushes to which José Martí referred in his Campaign Diary. In this way, they gave their contribution and revived history through the promotion of this natural resource to contribute to the formation of patriotic and environmental values.

In the central words Julio Guerra Rodríguez, representing the José Martí cultural society, expressed the Apostle’s love for plants and the benefits they bring to the environment, and called on workers to contribute to their protection and care as an integral part of the Cuban forest heritage.
