Mayabeque beekeeping workers exceed the technical economic plan.

Mayabeque, Cuba: The workers of the Carlos Juan Finlay Beekeeping Basic Unit (UBPC) from Mayabeque, exceeded their technical economic plan, corresponding to the first semester of this calendar.

In honey, its main productive indicator, they exceeded 20 tons, a figure that represents a growth in relation to the previous year of more than five tons; meanwhile, the quality was close to 99 percent.

Regarding wax, the second most important line of this UBPC, the group collected 383 kilograms, which translates into an over-compliance of 28 percent.

Another fundamental line of work is propolis, in which the entity reached 39 kilograms, which also exceeds the plan for the stage.

The 813 beehives of the apicultural cooperative are scattered throughout San José de las Lajas, Güines, Habana del Este and Guanabacoa; with careful attention all year round by the workers, especially now, when there is little flowering and the bees need to feed on sugar to survive.
