Mayabeque, Cuba: The forecasts for the trajectory of the tropical depression ETA and anticipating the deterioration of the weather in the coming days, the President of the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power in Batabanó, Nedelys Delgado Felipe, reported that the maritime transportation of passengers and cargo between the ports of this municipality, Nueva Gerona and Cayo Largo del Sur is suspended.
In the Basic Unit of Southwest Port Services, they implement security measures in order to avoid human and material damage, while the floating crane that is used for cargo transportation was transferred to the Isla de la Juventud.
The return of the vessels that were at sea, both from Batabanó and others belonging to the Mayabeque province were also decided. All the fishing fleets are on land and the five collection centers that remained in the fishing areas with all their resources were evacuated.
The Temporary Work Group in the municipality remains attentive to the information issued by the Institute of Meteorology and the notes of the National Civil Defense Group (DC), with the purpose of taking timely action, taking into account the measures of the Risk Prevention Plan and natural disaster.
