Mayabeque, Cuba: In the midst of the current pandemic situation and the difficulties in acquiring inputs for the fields and achieving higher food yields, the Bioprocesos Cuba 10 Base Business Unit, located in Quivicán, is working on the development of a large range of products for agriculture.
According to the entity’s director, Ana Nelis San Juan Rodríguez, for several years they have been working together with the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (CIGB) in the development of technological procedures for the production of industrial enzymes.
We have already obtained products that can be used in the fields, especially in the cultivation of sugar, to achieve the necessary quality for export, she explained.
To this are added other biofertilizers of great value within the fields of the territory, such as Nitrofix with great results in the sowing of grass.
The entity belonging to the Sugar Cane Derivatives Research Institute (ICIDCA), has around 60 clients who apply their obtainments on land, a good sign, given the interest in eliminating imports.
