Havana, Cuba: The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, reiterated today that the policy of the US administration is hypocritical, cruel and is based on threats and lies.
Through his Twitter account, the president emphasized that the island is a peaceful nation that has been a victim of terrorism from the United States.
In addition, he expressed his conviction about the failure of this North American policy with respect to the Caribbean country.
Previously, Díaz-Canel assured that the inclusion of Cuba by the United States in the list of countries sponsors of terrorism are the last blows of a failed and corrupt administration committed to the Miami Cuban mafia.
“The discredited Trump administration does everything possible to hinder and prevent an improvement in relations during the Biden presidency”, he denounced on Twitter.
The president added that the United States blockade against Cuba is an example of state terrorism.
Despite the international rejection of this unilateral decision, the US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, announced the designation of the island on the list of nations that sponsor terror.
The largest of the Antilles had been excluded from that group in 2015, during the process of rapprochement with the United States in the second term of Barack Obama’s term (2009-2017).
According to the US statement, Cuba is included for allegedly providing support repeatedly to acts of international terrorism by granting safe haven to terrorists; accusations that the Island has repeatedly denied.
