Mayabeque, Cuba: The Basic Unit of Cooperative Production (UBPC) 13 de Marzo of Batabanó works uninterruptedly planting potatoes.
The agricultural workers of this UBPC undertake days to speed up the cold season and comply with quality planting of 30 hectares of the tuber.
According to the director of the agricultural company in the territory, Michel Pérez Reyes, they should take advantage of every hour of the day to sow 364 hectares of potatoes planned for the season in the shortest possible time.
Fertilizers, biological means and labor force as well as electrical irrigation in all fields for this stage are guaranteed, the manager added.
He also pointed out that for this crop they are using the seed of national production and will incorporate other varieties later.
